TAMPA - Little girls from across the area got to try out a high school tradition in several dance camps the schools hosted last month.
Elementary and middle school students joined dance teams and color guards from Alonso, Sickles, Gaither and Chamberlain for practices and performances at high school football games.
The 'littles' or 'juniors' - Alonso's Little Touch of Class, Sickles' Little Sensations, Gaither's Junior Starettes and Chamberlain's Junior Chiefettes - got T-shirts and dance tips as well as time to hang out with older girls. They sat with the high school students in the stands and joined cheers during the game.
The events expose the younger children to high school and help raise money for the dance teams.
