Words Of A Survivor
Holocaust Survivor Philip Gans will speak at 8 p.m. at the Hutchinson Auditorium at Florida College, 119 N. Glen Arven Ave.

Gans will talk about his experiences during the Holocaust as a way of teaching tolerance and preventing future tragedies.

Culture And Rhythm

Navtej Johar of New Delhi will perform a Bharatanatyam solo entitled 'Meenakshi' from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Friday Morning Musicale, 809 W. Horatio St.

This traditional Indian dance is a paean in praise of the green goddess. Trained at Kalakshetra, Chennai, Johar has performed in venues all over the world.

Murder On The Nile
Enjoy a little murder and mystery at Carrollwood Players.

'Murder on the Nile' directed by Carlyn Postle opens at 8 p.m. at 4333 Gunn Highway. 'Murder on the Nile,' based on Agatha Christie's 'Death on the Nile,' will be performed at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 29.

A Show Of Art

Join the sixth annual Life Enrichment Center Art Show & Sale from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at TECO Plaza Art Gallery, 702 N. Franklin St.

The event includes art sale, activities, entertainment, food and drinks. Proceeds go toward the Life Enrichment Center.

Celebration Of Words

Check out the celebration of writing and literature hosted by The Artists and Writers Group and Hillsborough Community College.

Deep Carnivale: A Celebration of Words is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 14th Street and Palm Avenue in Ybor City. Authors, poets and playwrights will read and perform their works. Books will be on sale.

Explore Family Tree

Learn about your family history at the Florida Genealogical Society fall seminar.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry campus. Certified genealogist Amy Johnson Crow will speak. Vendors also will set up at the event.

It's A Circus

Enjoy a day at the circus.

The Moscow International Circus will be on tour at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the University of South Florida Sun Dome, 4202 E. Fowler Ave. Performances include motorcycle stunts, magic, aerial skills, comedy and trampoline stunts.

All Weekend

A Cool Musical

Sing along with Disney's 'High School Musical' characters when they perform on ice.

Disney Channel's High School Musical is on tour and will make its stop in Tampa. The tour will have five performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Pete Times Forum, 401 Channelside Drive. The performances will also take place at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
