Jazz Up Saturday At Informal Concert

CARROLLWOOD - Jazz with Jim, an informal jazz concert, will be offered from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Carrollwood Cultural Center.

The concert will feature noted Tampa jazz musician Jim Burge and his quartet, Jazz Futures.

This is the second in a series of monthly concerts by Burge's quartet, and at each one, he invites a different jazz musician to play with the group, said Laure Pericot, marketing director for the center.

Burge taught music at the University of Tampa and Hillsborough Community College, she said.

Admission to the concert is $7. Desserts will be available, and guests can come and go and move about as they please, Pericot said.

Works by featured gallery artist Mary Ann DiNella will be on display. Her exhibit at the center runs through Aug. 14.

She markets her artwork and performs folk music throughout Florida and finds inspiration from the folk community and the Seminole Indian Tribe, for whom she has made many portraits.

DiNella works in all media, but her favorites are watercolor and oil.
