TOWN 'N COUNTRY - Families in Town 'N Country will have a chance for free physicals and immunizations for children before school starts.

The Hillsborough County school district and Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County are hosting a series of free physicals across the county. One is scheduled for Saturday at the Town 'N Country Recreation Center. Appointments are required.

The physicals are available to any school-aged child entering kindergarten through 12th grade who is new to Florida schools. Parents or guardians must accompany them and bring children's immunization records.

All children must have received the minimum number of immunizations that the state requires. Vaccines vary based on grade but include immunizations for chicken pox, polio, hepatitis B, tetanus and other shots.

Sports, Head Start or day care physicals are not available at the free dates.

The first day of school is Monday.

The school district and Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County are partnering to offer free physicals and immunizations before school starts. One is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Town 'N Country Recreation Center, 6039 Hanley Road, Tampa. Call (813) 870-4747 for an appointment.
