Teens who excel at the computer games "Guitar Hero III" or "Dance Dance Revolution" are invited to participate in a celebration of Teen Tech Week 2008.
Hillsborough County public libraries are organizing the event, with competition qualifying rounds this month at seven libraries throughout the county. From each round, the top two players will win prizes and earn a spot in the grand tournament from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1 at the Museum of Science & Industry. There will also be a few wildcard seats for the grand tournament, selected from a wild card qualifier at 10 a.m. the day of the tournament.
Competition is open to ages 13 to 18, and registration is free. For rules, registration forms and information on the tournament, go to http://Teens.hcplc.org.
The only library in the Northwest Hillsborough/Carrollwood area to hold a qualifying round is the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library at 2002 Bearss Ave. The qualifying round will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 23.
