The Sickles High School Sensations took first place at the Florida Federation of Color Guards Circuit Winter Premiere recently at Newsome High School.
Sickles competed in the Class AAA division against 12 color guard teams.
This was Sickles' first competition since being promoted to the AAA class. After taking first place at the 2008 winter premiere, Sickles was promoted to Class AA division. In the team's first contest in AA class Saturday, it took first place at Chamberlain.
The organization offers a competitive outlet during the winter for color guard, indoor marching percussion and concert percussion units. The season begins in January and ends in early April with circuit championships.
Sickles' upcoming competitions are: Feb. 9 at Seminole High School, March 1 at Newsome, March 15 at Freedom High School, and April 4 in Orlando for the federation championship.
