Scouts Learn Safety Tips, Show Skills At Bicycle Rodeo

TOWN 'N COUNTRY - Members of Cub Scout Pack 20 learned safety tips and got to show off their riding skills during a recent bicycle rodeo at the Upper Tampa Bay Trail park near Sheldon Road and Waters Avenue.
Deputies from the Hillsborough sheriff's office conducted the rodeo, inspecting bicycles and making sure the kids' helmets fit. For those whose helmets did not fit, new ones were provided. The scout pack is based at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 8401 W. Hillsborough Ave.
The kids were tested on hand signals and road signals and learned how to properly use their brakes - information that, hopefully, is making them safer riders during the summer months.
