Davis Elementary students resume classes after smoke on campus

TAMPA - Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews investigating a report of light smoke at Davis Elementary School found the smoke was from an air-conditioning unit in the administration building.

The smoke is being removed and will be turned back over to the school authorities shortly, officials say.

The children, who attend class in a different building, have been cleared to go back inside.

Fire crews arrived at the school at 10907 Memorial Highway about 11 a.m. today. The school had been evacuated as a precaution.
