TOWN 'N COUNTRY - The community will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in September.

The TNC 50 Going Gold group is putting together a big bash to honor the milestone, but the group needs help to fill in some dates and complete a 50-foot banner with Town 'N Country's timeline.

The group needs information on:

•The Town 'N Country Leaguerettes recreational softball league

•The original volunteer fire station on Eisenhower Boulevard

•The Twelve Oaks Swim Club

•The Oyster Shanti Restaurant

•Boyd Nursery

•When the public swimming pool was opened on Kelly Road

•When two elephants were displayed at Town 'N Country Plaza

•When games were first played at Shimberg fields behind Morgan Woods Elementary School

•When the carnival began next to Webb Middle School

•When the Lions and Sertoma clubs formed

•When the Cigar City Skeet and Gun Club on Memorial Highway near the Tampa International Airport opened

•When the Bay Crest holiday boat parade began

•When the area got its own Boy and Girl Scout troops

To view the information the group has so far, visit www.tnc50.com. To provide information about the list above, e-mail history@tnc50.com or call (813) 766-9091.
