WESTCHASE - Leaders for the Westchase Community Development districts have chosen the people who will lead while the groups undergo a merger.
The Westchase CDD and Westchase East CDD have begun the process to merge into one CDD. The Westchase community is currently run by the two separate taxing districts. Combining would cut costs and streamline government procedures.
Supervisors from both groups recently voted for the five people who will serve on the transition board until residents can vote for the supervisors that will serve on the permanent board.
Those five supervisors are: Mark Ragusa, Bill Casale, Greg Chesney, Bill Kemerer and Brian Ross. The new board will take over when the petition to merge is approved by the state this year. The term limits of the board are to be determined by the state. It could be 90 days or until seats come open for election by the current limits of sitting supervisors.
Residents will eventually get to vote all members of the permanent board in a land owners election run by the development group.
