TOWN 'N COUNTRY - The local Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce chapter will host a cricket match Sunday at Hamilton Avenue Park, off Sheldon Road.
It will feature food, music and children's games and a guest appearance by cricket player Faoud Bacchus. Parking is $5.
The game will raise money for the CARIB Project, a partnership of the Caribbean chamber of Tampa Bay, the Haitian Association Foundation, the Caribbean Community Association, the Guyana American Cultural Association and the Caribbean Coalition.
The groups want to build a facility with classrooms and meeting rooms, an auditorium, computer room and playground called the Caribbean American Cultural and Economic Development Center. The center would also include a Caribbean Hall of Fame to spotlight accomplishments of Caribbean people and the region.
Gates for the match between India and West Indies open at 10 a.m. and the game starts at 11 a.m. The park is at 9251 Hamilton Ave. W., Tampa.
