TOWN 'N COUNTRY - PricewaterhouseCoopers employees recently decided to spend a whole day volunteering.
About 16 workers spent the day at Rocky Creek Village Assisted Living & Retirement Community helping residents participate in some of the activities.
"We normally do an all-day event," said Jennifer Rogers, who works in PricewaterhouseCoopers' human resources service center's process and documents team. "With the economy, we decided to not spend the day selfishly and help the community."
Rogers originally contacted Rocky Creek's activities director Keith Elders, who decided to arrange activities for some of the residents who need assistance in participating.
"We needed to do some activities with residents that they can't do themselves so this was the perfect opportunity," Elders said.
He arranged the day so the residents could participate in a fashion show, scavenger hunt, shuffle board game and bingo.
"It's the first time we have someone like PricewaterhouseCoopers come here," Elders said.
PricewaterhouseCoopers volunteers and residents received certificates for participation.
