I was reading how our elected officials are racking their brains looking for new taxes. I'd like to remind them of a little bit of history. Some time ago, the king of England needed more money for his elaborate lifestyle, so he put a tax on wigs and the people stopped wearing wigs. He then taxed snuff and the people stopped using it. He then went on to tax windows and to this day you will still see bricked up windows in England. I'd like to remind our elected officials of the Boston Tea Party. Let us start by limiting the waste and unnecessary luxuries like private plane trips, foreign trips and the many extra perks that are included for our illustrious officials. ...more
